Grizzlies Across the Region – #GrizzCaravan Recap

For the third year in a row, the Memphis Grizzlies put together the Grizz Caravan for fans in the  Mid-South area.  In past years the Grizzlies visited Nashville, St. Louis, Jackson MS, Jackson TN, and Little Rock with appearances by Quincy Pondexter, Jon Leuer, Grizz, the Grizz Girls, and members of the Claw Crew.  This year the fun continued with events planned from the last of August through the month of September.  The first stop this year was on August 28th at Dickey-Stephens Park in Little Rock, Arkansas as the MILB Arkansas Travelers took on the Tulsa Drillers.  Along for the ride were Grizzlies Guard Jordan Adams, Grizz, Grizz Girls, and members of the Claw Crew.  Jordan Adams threw the first pitch, signed autographs, and took pictures with fans.

The second stop on the caravan was August 29th in Jackson, Tennessee at Pringles Park where the Jackson Generals took on the Pensacola Blue Wahoos of the MILB. In attendance were Grizz, the Grizz Girls, and Grizzlies Center Jarnell Stokes.  The crew played games with fans, took photographs, and signed autographs.  Stokes threw the first pitch of the game as well.

The Grizz Caravan visited Jackson Mississippi on August 30th with Grizzlies emcee Joey Thorsen, guard Russ Smith, Grizz, the Grizz Girls, and members of the Claw Crew.  On the way Russdiculous visited a basketball camp.  The whole crew was on hand as the MILB Mississippi Braves took on the Biloxi Shuckers.  There were prizes, autographs, pictures, and fun was had by all.

On August 31st #GritandGrindNight visited Autozone Park when the Memphis Redbirds took on the New Orleans Zephyrs.  It was a great time with the Grindfather himself, Tony Allen, throwing the first pitch, the always awesome Rick Trotter at the mic, emcee Joey Thorsen on the job, Grizz, the Grizz Girls, and members of the Claw Crew in attendance.  AHHC’s Tabitha Richard covered the night and brought us the scoop.  The auction of the special Memphis themed jerseys worn by the Redbirds players brought in $15k+ for the Memphis Redbirds and Memphis Grizzlies foundations so the event was productive as well as fun!

On September 2nd new Grizzlies Forward Brandan Wright visited his alma mater Brentwood Academy and conducted a Junior Grizzlies Skills Clinic at the school.  Wright then tailgated at the Tennessee Titans home opener with fans in Nashville.

On September 8th Grizz visited Busch Stadium in St. Louis as the Cardinals took on the Chicago Cubs.  During the visit to St. Louis Grizz apparently decided to ride, in a way, a mechanical bull.

Poor Grizz. We love you anyway!  Never fear, because you can dunk like a champ. Not to mention you can put a turncoat bear through a table like nobody’s business!

Grizz and the Grizz Girls were on hand to meet with fans and hand out Grizz swag.  Grizz even threw out the first pitch at the game.  A fun time was had by all!

The Mid-South was sad to see #GrizzCaravan come to an end, but the Grizzlies still have many events planned before the season officially starts.  Keep checking us out here at AHHC for new information and events.  Basketball is just around the corner!
