Preview: Grizzlies vs Jazz

Tonight your Memphis Grizzlies are on the road again, to face off against the Utah Jazz in their fourth and final meeting of the season.

Right now Memphis is currently 1-2 against Utah, and a win here would tie the season series. Any win is preferable to a loss, but this win would also have the added benefit of boosting our conference record, which may come in handy as final playoff seeding is determined.

The Jazz might not be contending for a playoff spot, but as we have already seen, they are also not a team to be taken lightly. The emergence of Utah small forward Gordon Hayward as an offensive threat has been a much needed boon to their team this season.

Honestly there is a lot of unappreciated talent on this Jazz team, and I think there is a good chance they make it to the postseason next year. But that is neither here nor there.

Tonight we need for the Grizzlies team that administered a massive beat down Wednesday night to be the one that shows up in Utah. We need another night of aggressiveness from Marc and Zach, and efficient shooting from Mike and Courtney. We need our bench players to show that same aggressiveness as well.

I’m not going to get into specifics as much, because my partner Sharon really laid it out quite well in her column earlier today. Which you can read here.

As the end of the regular season draws near, it cannot be stressed enough that every game counts, and how we fare in these last games will determine who we face in the first round of the playoffs.

We can be sure that the Jazz are not going to hand us an easy win, so our guys have to be ready to earn it. I believe they are, and I hope they believe it too.

Tip-off is at 8PM CST, and the game will be broadcast locally on Sports South.
