Grizz vs. Nets

Welcome back to the Stone Age Lionel Hollins. Where we talk slow, the tea is sweet, and a dish called Grit and Grind is served with heart at the Grindhouse, by the Grindfather. Where a standing ovation is followed by a thorough pounding, akin to the phrase “Bless your Heart.” In Memphis, we wine, we dine, and we Grit and Grind. We bleed Beale Street Blue. Tip off versus the Nets is at 7 o’clock, with pre-tip festivities honoring our All-Star Marc Gasol.

The last time these two teams met, ended in a Grizz win. There were differences to this evening in that Kevin Garnett was suspended for head butting Dwight Howard of the Rockets; Garnett will play this evening. Tony Allen is listed as questionable this evening with a sore right hamstring.

The Grizz have collected wins on 9 of their last 10 outings, specifically with the addition of Jeff Green. Courtney Lee’s shot has been off as of late, forcing him to be more aggressive at the glass, and upping hiss tats in the assist category. That being said, when the best three point shooter in the league is passing up the three, that’s a problem. Jeff Green’s full integration into Grizz cement came with his stellar performance against the Hawks. The Smash Brothers, Gasol and Randolph, will continue to dominate in the paint. With the potential loss of Tony Allen, the bet perimeter defender in the league, a Grizz weakness will be further exposed on the perimeter. The line must be defended, not walked. We’ll see you at The Forum.
