Grizzlies vs. Pistons

Grizzlies are back to their winning ways after defeating the Denver Nuggets last night, 92-81. After the game, the team took a happy flight to Auburn Hills, MI. Grizzlies will face the Detroit Pistons tonight at the Palace.

The Pistons are on a 10 game losing streak as they hope to bounce back tonight against the Grizz.

The Grizz will also have a reunion with Tayshaun Prince. Prince was traded in the deal that brought Jeff Green and Russ Smith to the team in late January.

Game Highlights of the first meeting

Grizzlies vs Pistons Full Highlights – Marc Gasol 23pts, 8reb, 3ast:

This is the 2nd and final meeting of the two teams this season. The Grizzlies have not lost to the Pistons since 2009. Will the Grizzlies continue their streak against the Pistons?

Key game thoughts:

1) Once again Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph must be dominate. Pistons will be without Greg Monroe and most likely will be with Andre Drummond as well. I don’t see why both Marc & Zbo can’t both put up 20.

2) Beno more than likely will get the start for Mike Conley. If so, this will be the 3rd straight game he has missed due to a nagging ankle injury. Beno has to defend Reggie Jackson as much as possible.

3) Speaking of Reggie Jackson, he’s a known Grizz killer and he must be contained as much as possible. TA or Nick Calathes should be on him like glue.

4) The dynamic duo of Tony Allen and Nick Calathes must impose their will defensively.

5) The Grizz must control costly turnovers. They had 20 last night against the Nuggets. That’s too many turnovers.

I don’t know which Grizzlies team will show up tonight. Hopefully, it will be the dominant team who is clicking on all cylinders. It would be devastating if they don’t pull off the win. The Pistons have lost 10 straight and I know they’re probably tired of losing. In essence, this game looks like it would be an easy win but sometimes it’s an illusion. Teams are NBA teams for a reason and some nights, the best teams can lose to the worst teams. The Grizz should take the Pistons seriously tonight and get a win.
