The Grizzlies dominated the Pelicans last night, in an ever so familiar display of strength, with an ultimate finish of 110-74. Out of the gate, it looked like the Pelicans might give the Grizzlies a better fight. The Grizzlies’ passes were looking sloppy and the follow through was not there. After about four minutes of these issues, the Grizzlies began to tie up the loose ends and run away with the game. They ended the quarter shooting 47.6% from the field goal range and 80% from the three point range.

By the beginning of the second quarter, the Grizzlies were firing from all cylinders. True to form, the entire team lit up the Pelicans on defense and coupled with a cohesive offense, meant the Grizzlies could not lose.

At the start of the fourth quarter, Vince Carter drained a three. The Grizzlies were up 93-59 with less than eight minutes left in the game. Next up, Grizzly rookies Adams, Stokes, and Jamychal Green finished strong, displaying the same dominance as their senior counterparts.

After the game, Marc Gasol discussed Jeff Green’s position on the team and stated “he has a lot of tools and we need to learn how to use them.” As Green discovers his place on the team, it’s nice to see that his teammates are working with him to discover that place as well. Capitalizing on Green’s strengths will most likely be a defining factor as the Grizz head into playoff season.

Below are full interviews. Tomorrow the Grizzlies will face the Utah Jazz at 8:00 pm.
