On Memphis’ problems offensively

“I thought we played well for stretches. Like he [Marc Gasol] said, we are still trying to find it consistently. We want to know who are down the stretch and who we are going forward. “It had nothing to do with energy. It was more us not finding a way or the way we want to play. We still haven’t decided how we’re going to play. Are we going to be more of a handoff team, or pick-and-roll guys? Are we going to be more inside-out? We haven’t found our identity yet of what we want to do on offense, but that cannot take away from our defense. We still have to be, defensively, the team we need to be in order to win games.”

“I think the thing that stands out is the grit, they played with passion. There was not one guy that didn’t give every part of himself to the game and it’s hard to do that all the time but we sure did it tonight and I’m glad the end result reflected that.”

“What he did tonight is pretty impressive. It’s hard to not know if you’re going to play, to be in and out. When he was out there he competed I loved that he turned and shot the ball and then he turned and shot the ball again, it made me smile because there was a courage about the way he played he looked really comfortable. ”

“I just had to be aggressive. We really wanted this game. We defended them well. They were on the run, we knew we had to grind it out. I just wanted to be aggressive and help my team out anyway I could.”
