Tonight your Memphis Grizzlies return to their home court to face off against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Both teams are playing for the second night in a row, the Grizzlies after much overreacted to loss to a young, hungry Timberwolves team playing in their home opener, and the Pelicans after a much closer loss at home to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The collective weeping and gnashing of teeth by some Grizzlies fans after last night’s loss in Minnesota seems both premature and misguided, especially when you take into account that the two best players on the Memphis roster, Marc Gasol and Mike Conley, were DNP-CD.
Even in defeat, there were still some bright spots, such as Deyonta Davis with a team high 17 points off the bench, Troy Williams practically tearing the space time continuum with his nasty block on Andrew Wiggins in the second half, and Vince Carter scoring his 24,000th career point.

Troy Williams says NOPE.
The Pelicans are winless after four games, despite having one of the top players in the league, Anthony Davis, putting up record numbers. Davis, who currently boasts the top Player Efficiency Rating in the league (38.6) and most points scored (148), has tried his hardest to put this Pelicans team on his broad shoulders, so far to no avail.

On the other hand, we have the Grizzlies, who will be going into tonight’s game with a 2-2 record and their aforementioned two best players well-rested and presumably ready for action. That plus the return of Tony Allen should bode well for Memphis tonight.

Will the Grizzlies hand the Pelicans yet another L, and keep their undefeated home court record?

Can human juggernaut Anthony Davis sustain his current level of play for another consecutive night?

We’ll find out in just a few short hours. Until then, keep a cool booty, errrbody.
