In Shy’s Corner: The Analyzation of the Grizz Total Domination

Game 3

Game 4

In 7 straight games, the Grizzlies have OWNED the Trail Blazers (4 games in the regular season and 3 games in the playoffs). In this edition of In Shy’s corner, I will discuss what the Grizzlies must do to maintain total domination in Game 4. The Grizzlies are on the verge of a sweep for the first time in franchise history. I think I will repeat that once again: THE GRIZZLIES ARE ON THE VERGE OF A SWEEP FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FRANCHISE HISTORY!!

Analysis

1. DO NOT take Blazers lightly. They will be playing for their playoffs lives. They will do everything in their power to extend the series. They don’t want to be embarrassed yet again by the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies should play like they are on the brink of elimination.

2. The stingy and stifling defense must be maintained as it has been the entire series. Game 4 is no time to let up! DEFEND, DEFEND, DEFEND the 3 point line.

3. Tony Allen should continue to wreck havoc and disrupt the Blazers offense. It’s called the Tony Allen effect. He be grindin’!

4. Courtney Lee has to continue to be aggressive. He has been very effective in this series. A continuation of his performance this series will be crucial to a victory tonight.

5. Beno Udrih is like the Blazers kryptonite. He shows up to play them. The only thing that stopped Beno in this series is a sprained ankle. Blazers have yet to have an answer for him. Beno is likely to start if he’s available since Mike Conley is out tonight.

6.  Zach Randolph must do better. First name 20, last name 10 sounds good to me. Zbo only had 4 rebounds in Game 3, look for that number to increase in Game 4.

7. It’s time for Jeff Green to have a good game. He is due for a highlight dunk. He’s been aggressive getting to line; however, Grizz need him to be efficient from the 3 point line as well.

8. Consistency has to be maintained on the offensive end. It would be imperative for them to do so in order for them to win this game.

9. Look for Nick Calathes to have a good game as well. Since Beno will likely be back, Nick will probably play over 20 minutes this game. His defense is great and his offense has been better as like. I love that he has confidence. Since he didn’t play in the playoffs last season due to his suspension, he is making up for it. Be prepared for the Calathes Aftermath!!

10. Marc Gasol will dominate once again. I believe his shooting percentage will be better this game. I look for him to have 20 or more points this game.

11. Contain Damien Lillard as much as possible. Nick Calathes did a good job on him in the last game. Nick should force him to take bad shots.

12. Everyone should be looking to rebound. The guards and wings must continue to help the bigs out with rebounding. It was a balanced effort rebounding in the Game 3.

13. Win it for Mike. He’s back in Memphis recovering from facial surgery. Get well soon Mike. The ladies at All Heart in Hoop City and the rest of GrizzNation is praying for you!!

  • Beno gotta be smooth. TA gotta be a BA. Zbo gotta be a beast! Jeff Green has got to go off. We’re saying the same things. The heck with maybe having to lose one in this series! I want the sweep! Something about Portland just dosen’t feel right, no heart. Watching the Mavericks last night you could tell there was some pride there. I don’t get that sense from Portland.
