Share the joy

Before 17,017 on a rainy and cold Saturday night in Memphis, the Nasty Nine put on a show. The Grizzlies showed resolve again with only nine available players active against the Lakers.

This was a shoot out and the night belonged to Lou Williams and Troy Daniels. It was the battle of the reserves. A test of will was on full display.

The Grizzlies improved to 13-8 for the season and have won two games in a row at home.

Takeaways

When Mike Conley was sidelined with his injury, some predicted the Grizzlies would fall. The Grizzlies are 2-1 in that time span and still have tough games ahead of them. This team just find ways to win; furthermore, the players prove time and time again that they are not the ones to be written off.

Teams just can’t underestimate the Grizzlies at no point this season. Make no mistake about it, this team faces major obstacles because of injury, but they will keep going. Their resiliency and resolve give credence to the phrase “there’s not quit to the grit.”

Will their decorum and perseverance sustain them until their injured players return? It won’t be easy but they won’t make it easy for their opponents either. Only time will tell if they can remain afloat through the adversity they have been dealt.
