What They Said!! Grizzlies at Sixers 12-22-15
Post Game Quotes
PHILADELPHIA 76ERS 90 – MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES 104
GRIZZLIES HEAD COACH DAVID JOERGER
On tonight’s performance:
“You’ve got to get a win. I thought our guys were professional and they executed pretty well. We didn’t contest enough defensively for them to shoot 47 percent, but we did have a high level of activity. We got after them and forced 28 turnovers.”
On facing a 76ers team that played hard throughout the game:
“I thought they played really hard. I thought there were points in the game where they pushed us out on the floor with their pressure and got after it. It’s a tough situation but they’re doing a great job motivating those guys. They’re making some mistakes, but they’re playing through them and they’re playing hard. I think Brett does a good job.”
GRIZZLIES FORWARD JEFF GREEN
On key to forcing turnovers in the second half:
“Be aggressive on defense.”
Do you feel as if the starting lineup is beginning to find a rhythm?
“As long as we’re getting stops that’s all that matters. That’s what wins games.”
SIXERS HEAD COACH BRETT BROWN
On tonight’s matchups:
“I think the physical side of things bothers our young guys more than I wished it did. Where people get hands on balls. They close out our shooters so we play a catch-and-shoot game. We get one dribble a little too deep in a crowd and we’re trying to make things happen in a physical sense that you cant just back up. I feel like they get to our balls quick. Things like that most come to my mind.”
SIXERS CENTER JAHLIL OKAFOR
On forcing tough shots:
“Some of it is they’re playing good defense and some of it is just trying to push the issue a little too much. We’ve been doing better on our turnovers. We had a lot tonight – 28. It’s hard to win when you turn the ball over that much.”
Did video of Gasol and Randolph from last game help you tonight?
“We played them a few weeks ago. It’s just getting used to playing them a little bit more. Playing against some of the better, big men in our league. It’s definitely a challenge. Marc Gasol is amazing and Zach Randolph is, too. I’m a competitor so I enjoy playing against those guys.”
