Recovering from a dismal showing immediately following the All-Star break, the Memphis Grizzlies are hoping to ride the momentum of this 3-game winning streak to another victory tonight against a perpetual thorn in their side, also known as the San Antonio Spurs.

The Grizzlies have already defeated the Spurs once this season, on February 6th inside FedEx Forum, administering a sound thrashing and holding the Spurs to just 14 points in the first quarter, and 9 in the 4th.

But there is a critical difference in the circumstances surrounding that game in February, and the one the Grizzlies will play tonight.

His name is Kawhi Leonard, and he’s going to be back on the court for San Antonio tonight. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies will presumably be starting Vince Carter again in the small forward position.

There are few people who are bigger Vince Carter fans than I am, but I won’t even pretend to be excited about a potential match up between Carter and Leonard, who is one of the front runners for MVP this season.

If ever there were a game that called for Dirk Gently Bear
